It is a RTS computer game developed by Relic Entertainment ,published by THQ on 5th of April 2007 and released in the US on September 24th 2007 and in Europe on September 28.  
 
It consists of Dynamic Weather Effects system which mainly has the real time effects and day-night time changes and also a bird which sings according to the different time of the day and according to the changes in the weather patterns. However this system does not create any effect on the battlefield created by Relic.  
 
The expansion made in the Dynamic Weather Effects System is the effects of time (morn-noon –or night) and the day–to –night transformation effect. Along with this it also has an additional feature of singing birds. Here the birds sing as they do in the real life at various point of time of the day and as per the various season as in the real life giving the real effect. Even though Relic suggested that these effects would have an impact on the battle field, sadly enough they don’t make any impact.  
 
The main battlefield which is the opposing front consists of campaigns of two new single players- one of British and the other of German. The British campaign has its basement at Liberation of Cean and consists of nine regiments which focus on the attack lead by Canadian forces from Sword, Gold and Juno Beaches on the city of Cean. The German Campaign on the other hand has the basement at the driving back of Allied forces as in Operation Market Garden and this was the German Panzer Elite’s campaign. Closely following it is the Kampfgruppe in Netherlands. There are eight playable missions staying closely to each other behind it, which can be used against one of the largest airborne invasions in the world history.  
 
The players of Company of Heroes can play against the computerized program named Opposing Fronts users. Players who own both the original Company of Heroes and the Opposing Fronts can play either as Americans or the British against the Wehrmacht or the Panzer Elite. Those who own only the Opposing Fronts; however, can play only as the British against Panzer Elite armies.  
 
In the game of Opposing Fronts the British have to remove all the enemies inside the Netherlands. First the player has to secure Arnhem and to get the control of the bridge in order to enter Germany. After it has been completed the Kampfgruppe pushes the enemy out of Valkenswaard by removing the last paratroopers in the British 30th Corps from Oosterbreek. How to play the game is determined at the death of Aldrich. The cause of Aldrich’s death was that he was placed along with the random infantary squad and at the end of the scene was shown as a dead person to hide an older brother who believed that the war was over and was not sure of the cause of his fighting. On the other hand Wolfgang survived the war and continued to live on with the Berger family till he died a natural death in1989 and he was buried in the family graveyard.
