Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 is the newest among the real-time strategy games from EA Los Angeles. The setting of the game is somewhat fictional where it is supposed that World War II had not happened. Instead, one super power (The Soviet Union) was catapulted to power in the 1950’s and is determined in fighting the Allies. The game includes three playable factions namely the Soviet Union, the Allies and the Empire of the Rising Sun wherein the latter poses a significant threat by rising to power as well. The gameplay strategies will include base construction, resource gathering, and a whole lot of land, air as well as sea army trainings as a preparation in defeating the opponents. A fully cooperative campaign for each faction is either playable using Artificial Intelligence, or another online human contender. Each campaign has its own storyline, precise objectives in mission and an applicable unit restriction.

Generally, majority of the structures now has an offshore building capacity, making it somewhat invulnerable to several enemies. It still features the real-life simulation of collectors harvesting resources, which in turn is used in constructing their military bases on-site. One of the major innovations for this new Red Alert 3 is the introduction of a new faction, the Empire of the Rising Sun. It also introduces a new cooperative campaign in addition to the extended naval warfare. Its single-player campaign can now also be played in a fully cooperative manner. Every mission can be played and is intended to be played in conjunction with an ally. If played online, your ally will be another online player and if played offline, your ally will be one of those quite a few characters controlled by the computer. Each side has nine missions to complete for every campaign.

With regards to the naval warfare, modifications were made as to make more units amphibious. As mentioned earlier it is possible to build the entire military base on water as well as buildings. Unknown to the Soviets, after the two officials’ arrival to the present, the powerful Empire of the Rising Sun had already shone. Realizing that Einstein no longer exists and nuclear weapons were also non-existent, after Japan had declared the war, the Allies as well as the Soviet Union were driven into a three-way war with Japan.
