Shooting to the top of sales charts upon release and opening to a warm reception from the community is Battlefield 2. It was released in June and gamers and friends crammed in to join in the fun with other new gamer friends. This series builds from the teamwork necessary to rule this game. This game is addictive despite the crashes and bugs of the sort that could use some fixing.

This game was foreseen as ever increasing content through expansions that would increase the fun even before the game was available in stores across the world. More of the focus was on what is to come next. What will DICE and EA choose for each of the add-ons focus around? It has been noted that the first expansion will be directed towards getting players to join the infantry style, get out of the tanks and safe-havens and join the combat troops. In Battlefield 2: Special Forces pits two of six Special Forces units against each other in more intense environments than are seen in the Battlefield 2 parent game.

The best part of Special Forces is all the neat little things that are integrated into the battlefield environment such as night vision. So with Battlefield 2, you have an adventure environment for the grunt soldier. When you add on Special Forces, there are all these additional things you can do and accomplish. You can now play like a super soldier.

It is still set in a battlefield environment, but with all the toys and extra abilities that aren’t available in the regular battlefield, everyone feels more powerful and important. Two of the biggest assets in equipment are night vision, which continues into commander mode also, and the other being the mobility based features, including a zip line and grappling hook. The set-up right now is mostly balanced, but it would be slip up if we didn’t get the night maps to go along with the night vision.

It’s a play on light and dark. When traveling somewhere in the middle of the night, you will run into places where no street lights are present and none of the buildings have lights. This can make for an extremely dark scene. But if for instance you find yourself in a parking lot or something of the sort, there will be plenty of lights enabling you to see extremely well without your night vision. So it’s a given it wouldn’t be to your advantage to use it there. But in the darker areas of the city, night vision will be imperative not only to accomplishing your tasks, but also to your survival. Night vision also helps balance out the instances of hiding in dark corners. Keeping from the night vision will prove to be a difficult task. Involving some critical and on your toes thinking can help get you far in this. Now, prepare yourself for Battle Soldiers, as they say in the military.
