The CD key is for the EU version of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, and it will only work on EU servers. Players wishing to access US servers will need to purchase the US CD key of the game.

Adventure is the spirit of life for many youngsters today. Adventure related activities and games have them all hooked, and since the invention of computer games, they could spend the entire day playing online adventure games. With this in mind, the Norwegian computer game company Funcom developed The Age of Conan:Hyborian Adventures for Personal Computers. The company refers to it as MMORPG, or massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Based on fantasy, the game was first made public only to a limited clientele, who had either preordered it or had requested for early access as soon as it is launched. This big event took place at 9pm (GMT) on May 17, 2008. North America saw the release of the PC edition on May 20, 2008 and Europe on May 23, 2008. The company had originally planned to release a new version as well, but that has been delayed by at least a year.

The Age of Conan is actually a series of games planned by the company. Based on Howard’s one and only Conan work of fiction called The Hour of the Dragon, The age of Conan depicts events as they unfolded in the Hyborian Kingdom, a year after they were sequenced in the novel. Hyborian Adventures is the first in the Age of Conan series, and has been released to commemorate the 76th Conan franchise anniversary.

Hyborian Adventurers creates unique characters for individual online servers on specific user accounts, which cannot be used in any other account. The company, Funcom, is planning to change this system after fully launching the game, by allowing server transfer of the characters. Hyboria is an online arena which has the virtual personification of characters created by the players. Players have three race options while creating characters, one with four archetypes, which is in bold, and for each archetype there are three class selections. Future plans for the game include more expansions of the play-worthy races, but the present setbacks of update failures, low server population and inability to provide content may prevent them from taking shape at least during the development phase.

Real combat is the name given to the engine for attacking the opponent with a sword in six ways. These include, hacking the head off, slash diagonally down or up from the left or the right, and torso thrust. These can be used in combinations for effective damage. This is an unparalleled combat technique where the player is directly in charge of his weapons. Easy to learn and use, the company is set to score over other RPG’s with its combat range of formation, mounted, siege and hive combats. In the present version ‘Combos’ or scripted strikes can be activated by clicking on the icons.
